SMPTE AG-18 defines the term “Public-Use Entry”. This is a Class 13 entry whose control has been delegated to an entity other than SMPTE. Control of such an entry can be transferred back to SMPTE (see the notes on the process).

NOTE: A Public-Use Entry controlled by SMPTE undergoes the same Submission process as any other SMPTE-Controlled Entry, and cannot be deleted and reused (see SMPTE AG-18).
